Did you completely miss the last person who was irresistibly attracted to you?
Did you completely miss the last person who would have made a great partner and wanted to do a deal with you?
Here's what happened...
Clueless?

You were at the local neighborhood bar (pick a context any context from this ordinary deck of 52 contexts) checking out ABC across from you.
They...ABC... were like nothing you had ever seen before, something novel...exotic. They were a...type...you have never intimately known before. You craved to hear their stories, experience them, to have them talk to you. You pined for just one glance from them...
Meanwhile, XYZ is sitting kitty corner from the bar, right over there... watching you. Perhaps you work in the same building together and they always watch you from a distance. You have so many things in common, but they have restrained themselves from approaching you before. They think you are out of their reach but if you looked over there, you'd obviously see that was ridiculous!
You would fit perfectly together.
The rest of the night XYZ watches you watch ABC. And both of you go home feeling remorse.
Truth?
You blew it.
You missed yet another opportunity of a lifetime.
Here's why.
Remember Paula Abdul's song Opposites Attract? Sure, her dance moves were sexy and the song was catchy, but all in all...she was wrong.
Familiarity Breeds Comfort
Humans are creatures of comfort. We cling to familiarity and we find it difficult to let go. We fear pain, we fear the unknown. We've all been plunged into the unknown at some point. It can be scary, we are forced to rebuild our world or assimilate new things into it.
We are genetically programmed to take the safe route.
But, little doses of novelty are enticing. Just the THOUGHT of winning the lottery causes otherwise rational people to throw money away on a one in 56,000,000 "chance."
You get excited about living vicariously through the experiences of other people.
This is why you are often so fascinated by people drastically different from you.
Here's the deal:
You can't do everything.
No one can.
That's why when you hang out with celebrities, you find that they are absolutely no different than you are with one or two exceptions.
1) They probably make more bucks than you do.
2) They probably get more attention than you do.
That's about it.
