Failure (Part One)by Kevin Hogan
Of the five that kept at it, the most out of shape, least likely person to win, won. She is fat, she's not close to good looking, she doesn't seem to be bright, she's not all that nice from the clips I see on the show.
Link to video of Survivor Episode: Watch Survivior Episode 9 (Note: Challenge appears at the 24:30 mark in the video.) She not only wouldn't quit, she was focused and wasn't interested at looking at other people to see what they were doing. She only focused on her work. The gal who finished second started watching the gal who would eventually win. Utterly stupid. People never realize that what the other person does is an independent event. To take ANY energy and put it over THERE is to take energy FROM here and the current task. The "looker" will lose. The driven will win. It's life. So many people in life want to know what their neighbor has or how many sales the other guy made at work or who SHE is dating. And of course none of this stuff is important. I'd like to be interested in whether someone is doing a better job than I am at something but what is the point of looking? The difference between regret and accomplishment....is... getting stuff done... 1/8 guaranteed at a million and three quit and watched because they got discouraged and tired. Whew...wow... Amazing... Rule one: There is nothing wrong with being discouraged or tired, you simply can't use those feelings as excuses to check up on the competition or distract you from your goal. Those short-term feelings cause almost all failure in life. Tired and discouraged ...cause people to quit because the conscious mind over-ride in most people isn't disciplined enough to shut off tired and discouraged. So our friends competing on the show quit trying for a guaranteed 12.5% chance at winning a million dollars (in 2 weeks!) ....because they were discouraged and tired. So why is it that people will tough it out for 24 days in the jungle of Africa, with crummy food, living conditions, with the INTENTION and PURPOSE of truly earning/winning a million bucks and quit? HOW does that happen?
