And if people stop looking at you, realize it's because people who have THE SECRET don't want to look at fat people. That's how you lose weight.

I kid you not. Rhonda Byrne SAID that in the same interview she explained how the children of Rwanda brought on their own genocide. (not the fault of the killers, the fault of the CHILDREN)

From Newsweek: "The Secret" is saying: Its explicit claim is that you can manipulate objective physical reality—the numbers in a lottery drawing, the actions of other people who may not even know you exist—through your thoughts and feelings.

In the words of "author and personal empowerment advocate" Lisa Nichols:

"When you think of the things you want, and you focus on them with all of your intention, then the law of attraction will give you exactly what you want, every time."

Thankfully, no one, has that kind of power or ability....nor would want it.

"Hey Kevin ...interesting reading your material as it is well written and the terminology easy to grasp. Some of the concerns you express towards "the secret" I do not share. We as spiritual beings have discovered solutions to every problem we have faced and continue to do so. Yes cancer has been cured,, our bodies' natural ability to detoxify with the proper mental and physical diet is evidence of this.Yes people with aids can now live normal happy lives and are not doomed to a prolonged agonizing death. lets face it there are "places" we can call "heaven" where circumstances manifest themselves in a matter of days inasmuch as there are places hellish in nature where it may take weeks and months to see evidence of your will taking effect from the sheer fact that there are no resources to impliment our strategies. Free will is a great theory to apply when it comes to destroying limiting beliefs. In a perfect world psychology would be part of the regular school curriculum be available to our youth by age 6 so they may have the tools necessary to counsel theirselves through tough emotional issues with quality "self-talk." It is apparent that we should all understand that sometimes we must play the part of a little cog in the wheel of a different machine much more powerfull than our own. Perhaps the role of the suffering little boy born with a stroke is meant to inspire others to achieve as he achieves in spite of his handicaps. The laws of attraction work,,we have to learn to work with the law using logic. Keep stirring the pot there are lots of issues we need to hear more about."

"I appreciate your insights on "The Secret." You skillfully pinpointed the problem with the "Law of Attraction" -- it's the blame game. I have a friend who is a incest victim. She was molested and abused by her father. A metaphysical teacher told her that she "attracted" the molestation and abuse as a child. The problem was not with her abuser, but with her negative mindset. She may have been only a child, but she is to blame for the rape, incest and abuse! There is another popular cd set that deals with the law of attraction.. It is Dr Robert Anthony's "Secret of Deliberate Creation." (This might be interesting to mention in your book as well) Dr. Anthony discusses the law of attraction from a historical perspective. For instance, Dr Anthony says that the public's "unconscious acceptance" of Hitler allowed him to come to power. Dr Anthony says that Europe and America felt like Hitler wasn't their problem, and chose not to get involved. That's why Hitler alone isn't responsible for the Holocaust. The problem lies with the "Collective Consciousness" of the people. Other countries share Hitler's blame, as they permitted it to happen. That's a good point, but at the same time Dr Anthony (and also Rhonda Byrne) tells us to look away from anything undesirable, don't watch negative news, don't read the newspaper, etc. The reason for this is to maintain a positive vibrational energy. This will help us to attract what we want, not what we don't want. This is the inconsistancy that you pointed out in your article. Dr Anthony (and also Rhonda Byrne) recommends that we ignore horrible things around us, but that also means not responding or taking action. If no one responds or takes action, the problem gets ignored and perpetuates. And now we're "partially responsible" or part of the "collective consciousness" of the problem. In this way, the "Law of Attraction" is self-defeating, or at least problemmatic. Blaming the victim never helped anyone. Nor does looking away or ignoring the problem. "Kevin: Thanks for your article on "The Secret" (three million copies in print, and over a million DVDs sold!) I have posted much the same kind of criticism on some e-groups, and couldn't agree more. After 71 years on the planet, I have seen a long series of these scams, and this one won't be the last. Nigerian banking, lottery winnings, penis enlargement, hot stock tips, the list could fill a book larger than the bible. The best way to get rich quick is to prey on those who hope to get rich quick and offer them a fake way to do it, which is what Rhonda and many others are doing. --

"I thank you for challenging “The Secret”. I do believe there is a Law of Attraction that operates in our lives. When I saw “The Secret,” however, it appeared to me to be an over-dramatized, over simplified explanation. There is great mystery in life, in how we attract what happens to us. And in what is the “we” that we refer to. It has been said that we build our own spider’s web that we cannot see. "Dear Kevin, I read with interest your article on your website about “The Secret” and the Law of Attraction it promotes. I suppose the only thing the Law of Attraction does is bring money to them from a bunch of chumps who want a free ride. Please pardon my sarcasm, but this sort of thing makes me angry. Another, related, concept I often run in to is that before we came to earth (that is, were born) we made an agreement with someone we knew from another incarnation to “teach” us a valuable lesson in this life. Like forgiveness, maybe. Let’s say someone (or a group of someone’s) come into a young child’s life and torture her beyond belief. Well, don’t be upset with those folks. "Kevin, Every week I have looked forward to reading your Coffee e-newsletter...although... In your edition last week and this week you took a position that really surprised me on "The Secret." I find it interesting that you can sell all sorts of programmes about a variety of subjects that are directly focused on the topic of Persuasion yet you hypocritcally call "The Secret" and those who produced "The Secret" "A LIE"... How appalling!? Let me say that my level of respect for you and your work has been seriously tarnished. As one myself who has observed the law of attraction("The Secret") in my life as well as many others(yourself included) I can attest that your "opinion" of this principle is very misguided and misinformed. Rather than attacking something as untrue maybe look at the validity of the existence and the examples of the principles at work already shown in your own life. But then, that's too easy too do. He who casts the first stone shouldn't live in a glass house... But being righteous you can't see that."

How can you be not 20% more productive or twice as productive, but 1000% more productive, and also give your time and love to the people that matter in your life... AND remember your SELF. You need to give yourself time as well. How do you do it? How can you make it all happen?

That isn't to say that each day curve balls won't come at you. They always will. They throw you off target. They do the same for me. They can take you out for a short period of time or they can take you permanently. I'm going to show you how to get everything done and more. Because life is more than the to do list. It is about living richly as you move through life...

There IS a "to do" list in life but there is also a "get to do list" that no one ever gets to!!! I want to show you what a "get to do" list looks like and how to make your own.

You will be able to produce or create as much as you want to produce or create. You will be able to have the formula for multiple streams of income laid out for you in simple terms. Nothing complex. Follow the formula and you won't need to rely on anyone anywhere for your security and your future. The foundation of life long security.

You will be able to earn as much money as you want and spend as much time with those that you love. You choose the number of dollars and the number of hours. I'll show you what to do to have it all.

This isn't a time management seminar. That would be something I could show you how to do in a book. I don't manage my time. I live a lifestyle. This is a lifestyle program that you have to feel. Living a life where you can have it all is something you need to FEEL...and feel it you will.
